NEW CANAAN, CT – October 6, 2025 – Horizons at New Canaan Country School (NCCS) is launching its inaugural speaker series by hosting Yale Professor Richard W. Lemons, Ed.D., who will lead a community event, "Building an Opportunity-Rich World for Every Child."
Dr. Lemons will lead a dynamic, interactive discussion focused on empowering parents, educators, and community members with actionable strategies to combat the complex challenges facing today’s youth—from relentless social media pressure and overscheduled calendars to food insecurity and mental health concerns.
The talk is designed to move beyond identifying problems, offering a forward-looking perspective on creating an "opportunity-rich" ecosystem that fosters critical thinking, emotional groundedness, social connection, and kindness in young people.
